Siamese cats, generally considered the "most trainable" feline, also tend to be the most talkative!
Cats express love by purring, rubbing their noses against owners and rubbing up against owners' legs. They enjoy sitting on your lap and love to lie close to you for hours at a time, snoozing peacefully.
Cats communicate through their tails. An upright tail means alertness (often at feeding time!), and a low swinging tail means playfulness or nervousness.
A cat that retracts and "kneads" its claws is expressing great pleasure.
Cats live in a vertical and horizontal world. They like to jump on top of things and look down on people.
It is not true that neutering makes a cat become fat and lazy. Neutering makes a cat healthier, less likely to roam, fight, or spray, and therefore a happier and a better pet.
Don't expect a cat to be outgoing. Cats are more selective, and while they don't wear their emotions on their sleeves, they can be very affectionate and loyal.
Cats do get along with dogs. When dogs and cats are raised together, they can become the best of friends.
And, contrary to myth, cats don't have nine lives.
